The Chopta weekend is the best introduction to the high Himalaya that a Delhi work calendar allows: leave Friday night, stand on a 4,000 m summit Sunday morning, and be back at your desk on Monday.

The centrepiece is Tungnath — at 3,680 m the highest Shiva temple in the world and one of the Panch Kedars — reached by a steady 3.5 km stone-paved trail that first-timers manage comfortably. The final kilometre to Chandrashila is steeper, and the reward is one of the great sunrise panoramas of Garhwal: Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar dome, and Chaukhamba in one sweep.

In winter the same trail becomes an easy snow trek — the temple closes, but the summit stays reachable on clear days and the meadows turn white. We run this trip nearly year-round, skipping only the peak monsoon weeks.

We are a private tour operator based in Pithoragarh, run by Uttarakhand locals.
