Kedarnath is the highest of the twelve Jyotirlingas, set at 3,583 m at the head of the Mandakini valley — and reaching it is a pilgrimage in the truest sense: the last 16 km from Gaurikund are covered on foot, by pony, by palki, or by helicopter.

This 5-day itinerary from Haridwar keeps the trek day and the darshan day separate, so you climb unhurried and meet the deity rested. Char Dham Yatra registration is mandatory for every pilgrim — our team completes it for you before you travel; you only share your ID and travel dates.

The trail is demanding but far from exclusive: with an early start and a steady pace, first-time yatris of all ages complete it every day of the season. We brief every traveller honestly about fitness before booking.

Day-wise itinerary

1Haridwar → Guptkashi / Sitapur1,319 m

Altitude: 1,319 m

Drive up the Ganga and Mandakini valleys through Devprayag and Rudraprayag — two of the five sacred confluences — to Guptkashi. Evening visit to Ardh-Narishwar temple and yatra briefing. Overnight stay.

2Sonprayag → Gaurikund → Kedarnath trek3,583 m

Altitude: 3,583 m

Early transfer to Sonprayag and Gaurikund, then the 16 km trail to Kedarnath alongside the Mandakini. Walk, or take a pre-arranged pony or palki. Evening aarti at the temple. Overnight near the temple (or return by helicopter, on request).

3Kedarnath darshan → descend → Guptkashi1,319 m

Altitude: 1,319 m

Pre-dawn darshan at the Jyotirlinga and time at Bhairavnath viewpoint before trekking back to Gaurikund. Transfer to Guptkashi. Overnight stay.

4Guptkashi → Triyuginarayan → Rishikesh340 m

Altitude: 340 m

Morning visit to Triyuginarayan, the temple of the eternal flame where Shiva and Parvati are said to have married, then drive down the valley to Rishikesh. Evening Ganga aarti at Triveni Ghat. Overnight stay.

5Rishikesh → Haridwar — yatra concludes314 m

Altitude: 314 m

Morning at leisure in Rishikesh (Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula) and transfer to Haridwar by noon for onward trains. Har Har Mahadev.
