The Nainital + Corbett combination is Uttarakhand’s most-loved family holiday for a simple reason: it pairs two completely different worlds — a Victorian-era lake town at 2,000 m and India’s oldest national park — within two hours of each other and of the Kathgodam railhead.

Our version fixes the two things that spoil this trip when it’s bought off an OTA: the safari is a confirmed shared jeep permit arranged in advance (not a “subject to availability” surprise at the gate), and the pace is genuinely family-shaped — one hotel change, no pre-dawn starts except the safari morning itself, and the quieter lakes included alongside the Mall Road staples.

Short morning drive up to Nainital. Afternoon boating on Naini Lake, darshan at Naina Devi temple, and an evening stroll on Mall Road. Overnight stay.

Ropeway to Snow View for the Nanda Devi panorama, then a lakes circuit — Bhimtal, Naukuchiatal, and Sattal — with time for the zoo or Eco Cave Gardens with children. Overnight in Nainital.

3Nainital → Corbett (Ramnagar)400 m

Drive down through Kaladhungi (Jim Corbett's winter home and museum) to Ramnagar on the edge of the national park. Evening riverside walk and Garjiya Devi temple. Overnight stay.
