Adi Kailash Yatra Cost 2026: Honest Budget Breakdown

ByHimanshu· Founder · 5 Aug 2026

Search for Adi Kailash packages and you will find prices anywhere from ₹12,000 to ₹50,000-plus per person. That spread confuses people, and it should — the packages at either end are not the same product. Here is how the pricing actually works, what our routes cost, and the one corner that should never be cut.

What our routes cost

All prices are starting from, per person, and every route includes the Inner Line Permit. Final quotes are confirmed on WhatsApp.

Route Days Starting from
Darshan Express (ex-Dharchula) 4 ₹16,500
Via Kathgodam 7 ₹34,500
Classic (ex-Pithoragarh) 7 ₹36,000
Ex-Delhi, door-to-door 8 ₹37,500

Why does the Express cost less than half the ex-Delhi price? Distance and days. It starts at Dharchula itself — you arrange your own travel there (we help you plan that leg) — and its four-day itinerary goes up without the acclimatisation day at Gunji. That is why we recommend it only to fit travellers with previous altitude experience. The full routes pick you up at the railhead or in Delhi, cover every night en route, and keep the acclimatisation day in.

What a package includes

Taking our routes as the example, the package price covers:

  • Vehicles suited to the route — Tempo Traveller or Innova on the approach, 4x4 in the Vyas Valley
  • Accommodation on sharing basis in guesthouses and homestays
  • Vegetarian meals: breakfast and dinner daily, packed lunch on darshan days
  • Inner Line Permit fees and the complete documentation work
  • An experienced local escort through the yatra, with a first-aid kit and pulse oximeter in the escort vehicle

What you pay for yourself

  • Reaching the start point. Train or flight to Kathgodam, Tanakpur or Pantnagar — or your travel to the Delhi boarding point on the ex-Delhi route. The Express requires you to reach Dharchula on your own.
  • Personal gear. Warm layers for 4,500 m, decent shoes, a daypack. Go through the packing checklist before buying anything — most yatris already own half of it.
  • Medical certificate. A fitness certificate from your doctor is mandatory for every yatri.
  • Personal expenses. Tea stops, snacks, and offerings along the way.
  • A buffer day in your leave plan. Not a rupee cost, but the mountain roads occasionally decide the schedule, and the yatris who suffer most are the ones with a non-refundable flight the next morning.

Where the cheap packages cut

A ₹12,000-type price is usually built the same way: start at Dharchula, compress the days, and drop the acclimatisation day at Gunji. The first two cuts are inconvenient. The third one is dangerous. This route crosses 4,300–4,600 m, and going up too fast is the main cause of altitude sickness on the yatra — the fitness and altitude guide lists the symptoms every group should know before they travel. Whoever you book with, keep the acclimatisation day.

Honest ways to spend less

  • Take the overnight train to Kathgodam. Combined with our Kathgodam route, it is the best-value full itinerary from Delhi.
  • Travel in September. Post-monsoon skies are the clearest of the year — the views you came for, at no extra cost.
  • Book early. June departures fill first; booking ahead gets you first choice of dates.
